Under 25’s CMP project update

The iDecide programme has been developed in response to the needs of the younger adults on ESA. The pilot project is currently running in the North Staffordshire area only. We have consulted with a number of younger people and fellow professionals and have designed the iDecide programme to focus on:

  • Increasing success with engaging with the younger adults
  • Focus on health issues important to the customers
  • Promote self efficacy, capacity, confidence and empowerment

We will support the young customers via partnership working with the JCP and link up with various employment specialists, training providers or educational centres.

Project work

The iDecide will be based on project based work using multi media and community based activities, exploring health and social determinants that act as barriers to moving in to more meaningful activities.

The workshops will run for up to 8 weeks at a time, working with small groups of individuals on a variety of projects involving digital media. These projects include:

  • Video documentary (on the group’s chosen topic)
  • Photography
  • Online activities - effective researching and networking, blogging, web design etc
  • Poster campaigns on chosen topics
  • Geocaching- outdoor fun GPS game
  • Looking and linking with other interesting opportunities in the area
  • A visit to an exhibition, studios or similar inspirational venues

We hope the session will help participants to explore wellbeing, develop confidence, self esteem while creating networking opportunities and learning new digital skills. They will get to meet other individuals who share much in common while giving them a voice and potentially a new direction to travel.
